Goggles: yes or no?

Practise at home

Goggles: yes or no?

Goggles help some children and slow others down. Here is how to decide, and how to practise in the bath.

A towel, white swim hat, goggles and an apple laid out on a wooden bench

We never insist on goggles. Some children love them, some find them tight and distracting.

If your child wants to try, let them wear goggles in the bath first, with their face just touching the water.

If they cannot open their eyes under water without goggles, that is fine at the early stages. We teach both by Stage 4.
