What floating really means at Stage 3

At Stage 3, floating means lying still on the water for five seconds, without a float or a hand.

A child floating on their back like a star

Floating sounds simple, but it is the moment a child stops fighting the water and lets it hold them.

At Stage 3 we look for a star float on the back and a mushroom float on the front, each for five calm seconds.

The secret is the head. Ears in, chin up, tummy up. Once that clicks, everything else gets easier.
